![]() | Flying Over the Top of the World Skyview is proud to report that in May '07 a close friend to the company, Giles Cardozo, inventor of the parajet engine, and his fellow pilot Bear Grylls; took off from the small Himalayan village of Pheriche. Their team became the first ever to fly higher than the top of the world in a powered paraglider. One of the main technical challenges was to produce an engine that was light enough to carry and generate enough power to fly in high atmosphere of the Himalaya. Giles said "It felt weird just hanging off a few strings with an engine on your back. It was an incredible experience to be up there and to look down at all those mountains. But I don't think we will ever do this again." |
