The Wireless Vantage Pro2 Plus with FARS weather station not only includes two additional sensors that are optional on the Vantage Pro2: the UV sensor and the solar radiation sensor; but also makes use of fan-aspirated technology. The DAV-6163 combines passive shielding with a solar-powered fan that draws outside air in over the temperature and humidity sensors, providing a much more accurate temperature reading than that available using passive shielding alone.
The ISS; which houses and manages the external sensor array, and Vantage Pro2 console; which provides the user interface communicate via an FCC frequency hopping transmitter and receiver. This makes the Vantage Pro2 the first and only weather station in its class to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology to transmit weather data wirelessly up to 1000' (300 m). | |

Includes Vantage Pro2 console/receiver, integrated sensor suite (ISS), and mounting hardware. ISS includes rain collector, anemometer with 12 m extension cable, and solar panel. Electronic components are housed in a weather-resistant shelter. Solar Radiation & UV sensors are housed on the sensor mounting shelf wrapped round the rain bucket. Temperature and humidity sensor enclosed in the Davis patented, solar-powered, 24-hour fan-aspirated radiation shield. The shield combines active and passive aspiration to minimize the effects of radiation.

> External ISS solar powered but requires 1 x LR123 lithium back up battery included. Ordinarily this should last 1-2 years.

Outdoor ISS and anemometer are supplied with U clamps for a 45mm Ø pole and coach screws for a post or wall. Larger U clamps can be used up to 65mm Ø

The Vantage Pro2 console can connect to a PC, Mac or IP connection using Davis WeatherLink data logger and software.
