About Loughborough Grammar School

Loughborough Grammar School prides itself on providing an education for its pupils that is diverse and challenging. As part of this, the school decided to introduce an innovative and interesting educational tool to allow their students to investigate, monitor and analyse weather conditions in their local area.

The Challenge


	In addition to monitoring and recording data, Loughborough Grammar School also required the information to be easily accessible by all pupils over the school's network, as well as remotely, for example on a teacher or pupil's home PC.

Our Solution


	Skyview Systems arranged a site visit in order to assess the school's individual requirements. As a result of this Skyview supplied Loughborough Grammar School with a two-part solution, consisting of a weather monitoring system; the Davis Vantage Pro 2, and Skylink-Pro; Skyview's web-based weather data logging system.

Combining the Davis Vantage Pro 2 with Skylink-Pro enables the school to record the data collected from the monitoring system and publish it online, allowing students to access and utilise the data in both classroom and homework activities, and also share it with the wider community and parents.

As well as having access to the school's own local data, Skylink-Pro is also populated with data from over 300 sites around the UK and Europe. This allows students to access a vast amount of data, enabling easy comparison and research, and is excellent for project work.
