 | The key is that rechargeable batteries only have 1.2 volts while non rechargeable batteries have 1.5volts. This small volts difference influences if an out door sensor can send information over any distance and if the data can be received or not by the indoor console. We always suggest that customers use new brand name batteries when setting up their weather stations.  |
