Vantage Vue Wireless Weather Station Technical Support
Below is help and answers to questions regarding the Davis Vantage Vue. If you have any other questions please email us by clicking on the link provided.
Q: My Wind direction is not reading the correct value.
Check to ensure that the plastic vane is properly inserted onto its shaft. You should see the silver, metal shaft sticking out of the hole at the bottom of the plastic vane. It will only stick out about 1mm. For further instructions on installing your vane please refer to your Vantage Vue Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) Installation Manual.
If your vane is properly installed and you still do not have an accurate wind direction reading, you can adjust the value of the wind direction from the Vantage Vue console. See your Vantage Vue Console Manual for specific instructions on calibrating your wind direction.
Q: Will the mounting pole affect my wind direction?
No. Davis were careful to design the size and shape of the vane fins to ensure accurate wind direction even when in the shadow of the mounting pole. Further, Davis tested this design in multiple locations and winds, including a world class wind tunnel used by NASA. It was discovered that the design of the vane accurately records wind direction from any aspect.
