Intrinsically Safe Anemometers
show your currency
Intrinsic safety is a protection technique for safe operation of anemometers or other meteorological equipment in explosive atmospheres. The concept was developed for safe operation of process control instrumentation in hazardous areas, particularly North Sea gas platforms. The theory behind intrinsic safety is to ensure that the available electrical and thermal energy in the system is always low enough that ignition of the hazardous atmosphere cannot occur. Skyview supply and install a range of IS anemometers suitable for use in these hazardous environments.
OMC-150 /158 Intrinsically safe wind sensor
The OMC-150 is an Intrinsically Safe combined wind speed and direction sensor, based on the cup and vane principle. A complete wind set consists of the wind speed & direction sensor, an Eex junction box, and a Zener barrier interface box OMC-158.
Intrinsically Safe WindObserver
The Intrinsically Safe WindObserver is ATEX approved for use in hazardous areas. This industrial anemometer will monitor wind speeds of 0-75m/s and is particularly suited to offshore oil platform applications.
