Ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensors use ultrasonic sound waves to measure wind velocity. Wind speed is measured based on the time of flight of sonic pulses between pairs of transducers. The lack of moving parts makes them appropriate for long term use in exposed automated weather stations and weather buoys where the accuracy and reliability of traditional cup and vane type anemometers can be adversely affected by sea salt in the air. Skyview has helped provide numerous ultrasonic anemometers to scientific weather stations, marine ships for navigation and airports.


			WindSonic Ultrasonic Anemometer WS01
			The Gill WindSonic is a low-cost 2-axis ultrasonic anemometer, providing wind speed (0-60m/s) and direction data in a robust housing. This anemometer has no moving parts, offering maintenance-free operation in a wide range of applications.

			The WindObserver™ II is a precision industrial anemometer, offering wind speed (0-65m/s) and direction data in a robust stainless-steel construction. WindObserver™ II has an optional de-icing system and carries Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
