Vaisala FS11 Visibility Sensor for RVR Applications

Every Vaisala FS11 is caliberated through a scientifically valid chain of reference. The FS11 incorporated a new technique that measures and compensated for the attention efect of window contamination.

The system works by monitoring the total reflectance of the window surface. It automatically compensates for visibility measurement errors caused by window contamination. The self diagonistics and modular design allow for very short service times.

The "head-down" design of the optical heads, protects against virtually all windblown particles. High-powered heaters prevent snow accumulation; so this eqipment is ideal for even the harshest of conditions.
